24 - Thomas Morgan
Thomas Morgan, a musician from South Carolina, has been honing his craft for over two decades. Despite having an appreciation for the higher-end gear favored by many in his line of work, lately he has become increasingly absorbed in budget gear. He frequently scours dumpsters and trash heaps to find the components he covets, as depicted in the image of him with his gear sitting on the grass.
What was your first guitar and do you still have it?
First guitar. 90s peavy predator. I do still have it, and frequently buy them when I find them. They are essentially American made strats, play them as is or parts caster them.
What is your favorite guitar right now and why?
Favorite guitar is an Ibanez art wood 340. For some reason it has the mojo.
What is your newest purchase?
Newest acquisition are a 99 Gibson dove acoustic, and an 09 Gibson 359 custom. Traded a trailer for them, and I must say I came out on the winning side of that deal.
How often do you play?
I play most everyday. Currently relearning some of the essentials most of us love to blaze past in the beginning. Reason for that is Joey Landreth, and him playing in open C. It’s an amazing world to explore.
What was your best musical moment?
Best musical moment is playing at the grand ol opry with my buddy. We played in bands growing up, and on his musical journey invited me to come play.
