What was your first guitar, and do you still have it?
My first guitar was an Alvarez acoustic and I do not have it anymore. I had that guitar over 30 years ago and I have no idea what happened to it.
What's your favorite guitar right now, and why?
I have two favorite guitars, my Gibson Hummingbird acoustic because it sings like a bird when you play it, and my Gibson Les Paul electric because of its incredible versatility and sound. The Les Paul has coil taps on both pickups, a classic 57 pickup in the neck and a Burstbuster 3 in the bridge, so the diversity of sound and snarl on this guitar is incredible, especially when played through my Marshall JCM 800 lead series amp.
What's your newest purchase?
My newest purchases are a 2007 Guild 12-string acoustic guitar purchased used about two years ago, and a 2018 limited edition Fender HSS Stratocaster purchased new in 2018. Both are absolutely gorgeous sounding and looking guitars.
How often do you play? What's the music you are creating, what's the mission behind it?
We are always playing and creating music. We play and write songs as much as possible. It's an ever-evolving process for us. I think what we try to do with the music we make is do what feels authentic and really allows the creativity to drive the songs. There's no real formula for the writing, we strive to always "serve the song".
